Spring Break!

Trevor lobbied for a road trip to Concord for Spring Break with Mae. What a memorable trip! They drove as far as Bakersfield on day one (thanks Dan and Jen for letting them stay, there and back again!), then up to Dave and Chin's for the rest of the week. It was one thing after another of fun and play and visiting with friends from last year. They did day trips to San Fransisco and San Jose for treats and sight seeing. It was AMAZING and memorable for them both.  

Trevor Alvin DeMordaunt...You have been called to serve...

Trevor and Mae took off on a California adventure for spring break (more on that later). The next day, Trevor's mission call came in the mail! What?! They weren't going to be home for a week!

Finally after a huge day of greeting family and friends (March 9, at 11:30pm Pacific time), Trevor and Mae arrived back at the house the same time as David and Chin. So they called us on Skype. We sat up in bed (March 10, 12:30am Arizona time). Wade slit open the envelope and held the letter up to the camera while Trevor read his call out loud.

We talked for a few more minutes then all went to sleep! The whole experience was so different from anything we expected. And it all happened so fast we didn't even video tape it as Jim had requested! But we don't have a video tape of Jim's call either. In fact, both mission calls were opened over Skype.

Heart Attack poster

Trevor and Mae both have Anatomy class this year from Mr. Hatch, though during different class hours. He offered extra credit for students who worked together on a poster. It was an ideal match with Mae doing the artwork and Trevor assembling some facts. 

Davis family visit!

Mitch and Ashley Davis live in Casa Grande for the moment, and we have had the privilege of having their family visit several times. Fortunately for me, I have been home for a couple of their visits, and Trevor and I got to stop by their place once on the way home from a swim meet in Tucson. It is so great they can come by Grandpa and Grandma Bergeson's to pick fruit, make juice and just be here. Mitch and the girls came over after Wade's race today, yeah!

Anyway, these girls are just the cutest! Phyllis, Tessa, and Remy--3 totally unique little gals and I just LOVE them. They all wanted to juice the fruit AND do the dishes. Man, I need to hire them. It is great that they live close and can stop by now and then.

Phoenix Half Marathon!

Wade ran the Phoenix half marathon! He has consistently stayed in great shape and decided to participate in this local event.

He finished in under 2 hours at 1:58.95 with a 9 minute mile pace.

He said it wasn't the prettiest course, but it was held on a perfect day at just the right time of year. He yearns for the St. George marathon again, I think. More running for this great guy!

Pokemon Games! (Black Version, Mae Style)

Here is Mae's character, Stacey, surrounded by Peace-out, Pluff, Wishy, Sample, Glasses and Greylock. At the bottom is Dime the Dewott and Peace-out (once again). Their adventures are too many to chronicle here, but Mae writes stories based on the games and draws the characters, bringing additional color and life to it all.
